Rendez-nous le Dieu Ogou est une performance qui nous rappelle combien il est important pour les Béninois d’avoir auprès d’eux le Dieu Ogou. Pour se construire, chaque peuple a besoin de se saisir de son passé, de lire à travers ces écritures le chemin parcouru. Dieu Ogou fait partie du panthéon vaudou et il a toujours accompagné les forgerons, mécaniciens, couturiers, conducteurs, tout artisan.
BIOGRAPHIE
Rafiy Okefolahan est né le 7 janvier 1979 à Porto Novo (Bénin). Il puise sa force créatrice dans le bouillonnement culturel de l’Afrique. Artiste nomade, son parcours l’a porté du Togo au Nigéria et dans divers pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest, avant qu’il ne s’installe 2 ans au Sénégal, à l’école Nationale des Arts de Dakar.

La crise capitaliste contribue à faire du continent africain le terrain de convoitise des grandes puissances mondiales. Ce néocolonialisme participe largement à la destruction et au déséquilibre écologique des populations africaines : déforestations, désertification, pollution des océans, érosions côtières…
L’artiste Benjamin Deguenon questionne dans sa performance “Stop MA PA TA “, le pillage des matières premières africaines par les multinationales occidentales.
BIOGRAPHIE
Benjamin Deguenon se définit comme artiste plasticien, s’exprimant à la fois à travers le dessin, des installations et des sculptures. Originaire du Mono au Bénin, il est né en 1982 dans l’ancienne capitale Abomey et réside aujourd’hui à Cotonou.

Ces murs qui fleurissent sans bannières
dans les livres qui obligent nos manières.
Nos murs en pensées, perméables et pas fiers,
n’altèrent pas l’irrémédiable avancée vers
les rives d’où surgissent nos braves d’hier.”
BIOGRAPHIE
Miguel Marajo est un artiste plasticien qui porte son regard sur l’aliénante uniformité des critères esthétiques de la société occidentale. Il se joue des traits pour éveiller une authenticité non assujettie aux canons de beauté. Son œuvre explore avec humour caustique, poésie et lucidité la foisonnante richesse des rapports culturels.
Ses créations sont volubiles, sous des traits en circonvolutions dans une débauche de lignes, font écho aux cheveux crépus dont elles miment le caractère libre et naturel. Telle une plante volubile, la nature s’y manifeste de façon sous-jacente, dans une gestuelle courbe et rythmée, envahissant la totalité de l’espace dans un mouvement qui semble encore vivre sous l’impulsion que lui imprime le mouvement du corps qui le génère en dansant.
Originaire de la Martinique où il a commencé son parcours artistique, Miguel Marajo expose dans plusieurs îles de la Caraïbe avant de se rendre à Paris où il obtient le diplôme des Beaux-Arts et un DEA en arts plastiques à la Sorbonne. Il expose dans différents pays, il vit aujourd’hui en région parisienne.

Give us back the god Ogou is a performance that reminds us how important it is for the Beninese people to have the God Ogou with them. To build itself, each nation needs to grasp its past, to read through these writings to know the path taken. The god Ogou is part of the vodun pantheon and has always accompanied the blacksmiths, mechanics, seamstresses, drivers, any craftsman.
BIOGRAPHY
Rafiy Okefolahan was born on January 7, 1979 in Porto Novo (Benin). He draws his creative strength from the cultural ferment of Africa. A nomadic artist, his journey has taken him from Togo to Nigeria and various West African countries, before he settled in Senegal for two years at the National School of Arts in Dakar.

The artist Benjamin Deguenon questions in his performance « Stop MA PA TA », the plundering of African raw materials by Western multinationals.

BIOGRAPHY
Miguel Marajo is a visual artist who looks at the alienating uniformity of the aesthetic criteria of Western society. He plays with features to awaken an authenticity not subject to the canons of beauty. His work explores with caustic humor, poetry and lucidity the abundant richness of cultural relationships.
His creations are voluble, with features that are convoluted in a debauchery of lines, echoing the Afro hair of which mimic the free and natural character. Like a voluble plant, nature manifests itself in an underlying way, in a curved and rhythmic gesture, invading the totality of the space in a movement that seems to live under the impulse that the movement of the body generates while dancing.
Originally from Martinique where he began his artistic career, Miguel Marajo exhibited in several Caribbean islands before moving to Paris where he obtained a diploma of Fine Arts and a DEA in plastic arts at the Sorbonne. He has exhibited in several countries and now lives in the Paris region.
